Key Design Features
Single or Double
Casements can have one Single Opening Sash/Casement or have a Double Hinged system.
Casement Bay
Some Bay Windows can be made up of individual Casement Windows. These are very common in Edwardian Era Properties with larger than average wider front elevations than Victorian builds.
Fixed Pane, Top Hung or Double Hung Casements
Regarding casement configuration - Windows can vary hugely. With Casements being hinged from the top horizontally and opening upwards to panes being fixed and non-opening at all. We will identify your casement and talk through any potential regarding design opportunities.
Storm Proof or Flush Fit
Casements can also be hinged differently Timber Flush Casement windows are a more traditional design style of casement window than storm proof casement windows. Flush casement windows sit flush within the frame, creating a flat surface on the outside. Storm proof casements however overlap the window frame when closed. They stand proud of the frame to provide fantastic seal compression and the best weather rating available.
Rebated or Centre Mullion
Casements can be Rebated (Sashes close on one another) or made with a central Mullion (Piece of timber that the Sashes close against).
